High Performance Motor – The CMI Model HD Chipwringer motor does not require any special overload protection.
Efficient Operation – CMI HD Chipwringers can operate at high oil recovery levels and low chip moisture levels of under 2%, depending on conditions.
Long–Wearing Wringer – CMI HD Chipwringers are manufactured with wringers that are tolerant of coarse materials, increasing equipment life span.Even Wear In High “G” Force Areas – Chips are spread over a full 360 degrees of the bowl liner and screen of CMI Chipwringers for even wear in high “G” force areas. Adjustable accelerator vanes are also not required in order to distribute wear evenly.
Self-Cleaning Slot Screen – Each CMI Model HD Chipwringer is manufactured with a self-cleaning stainless steel profile wire wedge slot screen.
Lubricated Bearings – Bearings are lubricated from a pressure-fed gravity overflow system, which includes a low oil pressure interlock switch.
Bottomless Oil Receiving Compartment – The CMI Model HD Chipwringer features a bottomless oil-receiving compartment, which prevents sludge collection and allows for continuous efficient operation.
Close Tolerance Seals – The total wringer unit is an isolated system that is mounted on five rubber machine mounts allowing for close tolerance seals between dry chip and oil discharge compartments.
Automatic Material Discharge – The CMI Model HD Chipwringer will discharge all materials automatically when specific shutdown procedures are followed.
Easy Parts Replacement – All CMI HD Chipwringer wear parts are made of manganese steel or stainless steel and are designed for quick and easy replacement.
Replaceable Manganese Discharge Liner – Up to 1” thick replaceable manganese discharge liners are available on the fixed impact area of each CMI Chipwringer.
“Off-the-Shelf” Drive Components – All parts for the CMI Model HD Chipwringers (i.e. motor, V belts, sheaves, bushings, etc.) are standard, off-the-shelf mechanical drive components allowing for quick turnaround on replacement part orders.
Easy Inspection and Changeover – Inspection and changeover to alternate process materials is accomplished in a minimum of time without cross-contamination of chips.
CMI’s engineers have perfected the technology of our Model HD Chipwringer in order to provide the most durable, reliable, cost effective continuous chipwringer available on the market today. The Model HD utilizes a unique horizontal design and is capable of handing a variety of chip sizes and materials. The CMI HD Chipwringers are available in the HD-500 and HD-8200 models, both of which are available in our optional Automotive Standards (AS) configuration.
CMI CHIP SYSTEMS
With over 40 years of experience in the manufacture of centrifuges for metal chip dewatering, it was only natural that CMI began to study the design of complete systems to process these metal chips. CMI’s experiences illustrated that customer requirements varied dramatically based on several key factors:
-
Type and volume of metal chips to be processed;
-
Size of chips as produced in individual machining centers;
-
Final disposition of chips and/or coolant; and
-
Physical plant structure.
Based on these variables, CMI has developed the expertise to develop complete turnkey chip processing systems. These systems incorporate the world-renowned CMI HD Chipwringer centrifuge, along with the highest quality shredders, crushers, conveyors, and other ancillary equipment to provide an affordable, yet highly reliable, chip processing system. Some systems can even incorporate the CMI VS Bar End Separator for additional protection, or the CMI Model BMC Batch Centrifuge for ultra-fine grindings.
CMI works diligently to make maximum use of the available space within the existing facility. CMI engineers will survey the existing installation, discuss the desired process, and work with you to develop the optimal solution. Controls can be programmed to meet existing plant control systems, and can be as simple or as complex as necessary to meet YOUR needs. Some examples of control options include troubleshooting capabilities and preventive maintenance warnings.
